Capital Smart Motors has officially launched the JMEV EV3 in Pakistan, bringing an entry-level all-electric sub-compact hatchback to a market where interest in electric vehicles is growing steadily as fuel prices continue to climb. The vehicle was first previewed at the Pakistan Auto Show last year and has now arrived in the local market with confirmed pricing and a structured rollout plan that positions it as one of the more accessible electric vehicle options for Pakistani consumers considering a shift away from petrol-powered transport.

The EV3 has been introduced in two variants targeting different buyers within the entry-level electric vehicle space. The base variant carries an introductory price of Rs 4,899,999, while the higher variant is priced at Rs 4,999,999. Bookings are set to open in April 2026 with a booking amount of Rs 490,000, though the company has not yet confirmed the exact date within the month when the booking window will go live. Deliveries are expected to begin in July 2026, creating a waiting period of approximately three months between booking and physical handover for early buyers.

Capital Smart Motors has yet to release the full technical specifications of the EV3, with details such as battery capacity, motor output, charging time, and the complete feature list still to be disclosed. The company has indicated these details will be shared closer to the booking period, suggesting a deliberate phased rollout approach designed to build anticipation while allowing the company time to finalise its market readiness. The launch nonetheless represents a meaningful moment for Pakistan’s nascent electric vehicle segment, where affordability has historically been a significant barrier to adoption. With the EV3 priced just under the five million rupee mark, Capital Smart Motors is clearly targeting the portion of the Pakistani car-buying public that is weighing the economics of electric ownership against the backdrop of persistently high fuel prices and a growing awareness of cleaner and more cost-effective mobility alternatives.
