Sindh research Incubation Center have distributed PKR 1.75 Million amongst 5 startups for their Batch 2 of their incubation program alongside the Government of Sindh and IBA Karachi.
Sindh Incubation Centre is a project by Information Science & Technology Department, Government of Sindh in collaboration with IBA Karachi is a Technology Incubator with an incubation process of 12 months and offering a co-working space at IBA, Utilities, Seed Capital and access to investors. The objective is to ensure the sustainable growth for early stage IT enabled product-based ideas by providing domain specific mentorship and investment opportunities to create commercially viable technology start-ups from Sindh. Recently, it has been reported that the Sindh Government has distributed PKR 1.75 Million amongst the chosen Sindh Research Incubation Center start-ups.
Sindh Government has distributed Rs. 1.75 million amongst the five start-ups of Batch-2 which have successfully passed out the incubation session at Sindh Research Incubation Center (SRIC). An official ceremony was held to make the incubation of these startups official and also included the cheque distribution ceremony as well. During the ceremony, incubates of SRIC presented progress on their start-ups and how they plan to go about the timeline of their incubation process. Director ICT & CICT IBA Karachi, Imran Batada, spoke at the ceremony and said that:
“The SRIC Project is a great achievement for the Government of Sindh and IBA-CICT. We are trying our level best in helping this incubates progress through diploma programs and state-of-the-art-facilities at the IBA”.
IBA-CICT provided these selected startups incubation facilities for a 12 month period. As per the incubation, the facility includes co-working space at the Institute, utilities, and access to investors. The over-arching objective of this initiative is to ensure sustainable growth for these businesses which are at a tender early stage and their ideas (which are primarily in the field of IT) need particular mentorship and investment opportunities in the hope that they can create commercially viable technology start-ups from Sindh.
The ceremony was attended by the chief guest, Minister IS&TD, Nawab Muhammad Taimur Talpur while IS&TD was represented by Secretary, Muhammad Nawaz Naseem, Director General, Muhammad Yousuf and Advisor to Minister Syed Zainulabedin Shah. Taimur Talpur said: “The SRIC project is part of our manifesto to promote entrepreneurship culture among the youth”.
