Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja praised Kazakhstan’s outgoing Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, for his contributions toward building closer bilateral relations between the two countries during a farewell meeting held in Islamabad. The meeting brought together officials from both sides to discuss the current state of cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan in the information technology and telecommunications sectors.

During the discussion, both sides explored ways to expand collaboration further, building on the existing relationship between the two countries in the technology space. Shaza Fatima commended Ambassador Kistafin specifically for his efforts to promote closer Pakistan-Kazakhstan ties during his tenure, with particular emphasis on his contributions within the technology field, an area that has taken on growing importance as both countries continue expanding their digital economies.

The minister said the ambassador had played an important role in advancing cooperation between the two nations throughout his time in Pakistan, acknowledging his broader diplomatic contributions beyond the technology sector as well. She extended her appreciation for his service and wished him continued success in his future diplomatic assignments as he prepares to conclude his posting in the country.

As part of the farewell proceedings, Shaza Fatima presented the ambassador with a commemorative shield, formally recognizing his contributions to building closer ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan during his tenure. The gesture reflects a broader pattern within Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement, where the technology sector has increasingly become a focal point for bilateral relationships, with officials continuing to explore opportunities for deeper cooperation with international partners as part of the country’s wider digital economy agenda.
