Science City has officially opened registrations for its Pilot Virtual STEM Programme for young explorers, creators, and problem solvers aged 8 to 16 across Pakistan, with the initiative aimed at nurturing scientific minds and laying the foundation for Pakistan’s first National Science Team of Kids. The programme is open to students from all cities across the country, entirely virtual and accessible from anywhere in Pakistan, with the first 10 registered participants attending completely free of charge and the programme set to commence in mid-June 2026. Registrations are now live at https://lnkd.in/dF9azN9x, with limited seats available.

The curriculum is built around five core programme themes designed to give young participants a comprehensive introduction to the world of science and innovation. These cover Science Simulations, Engineering Design Process and Challenges, Science Communication, STEM Entrepreneurship, and STEM Careers, offering students not just theoretical exposure but practical frameworks for thinking like scientists, engineers, and innovators. The inclusion of STEM Entrepreneurship and STEM Careers as dedicated themes sets the programme apart from conventional science education, signalling an intent to connect young learners with the professional and commercial dimensions of scientific work from an early age, building ambition alongside knowledge.

The programme is designed to be genuinely inclusive, drawing students from all cities across Pakistan rather than limiting participation to major urban centres, and parents, educators, and schools are being actively encouraged to share the opportunity with young learners in their communities. STEM enthusiasts outside the defined age group can also join as trainers supporting science education, broadening the initiative’s reach beyond participants into the educator community. For a country with one of the world’s youngest and fastest-growing populations, building a culture of scientific curiosity and hands-on problem solving at the school level is increasingly recognised as one of the most foundational investments Pakistan can make in its long-term human capital. Science City’s National Science Team of Kids is a concrete expression of that recognition, backed by a structured curriculum, national representation across cities, and an ambition to create a community of young Pakistani scientists, innovators, and changemakers who see themselves as contributors to Pakistan’s future rather than passive recipients of it.
