The Revamping IT Industry Landscape project has been recognized as the Best Digital Skills Initiative of the Year at the inaugural TAF-ABL Public Sector Digital Transformation Awards 2026, an event organized by the Tech Advisory Forum and Allied Bank Limited in collaboration with Ignite National Technology Fund and Pakistan Single Window. The recognition was announced jointly by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan and Allied Bank Limited, positioning the win as the outcome of a collective effort across public and private sector partners rather than the achievement of any single institution.
According to the announcement, the RITI project’s recognition reflects its role in equipping Pakistan’s youth, particularly women, with high demand digital skills, practical industry experience and pathways to participate more fully in the digital economy. The awards themselves brought together government leaders, technology innovators, development partners, academics and industry representatives in Islamabad to celebrate outstanding achievements in public sector innovation, with the ceremony recognizing exceptional individuals, organizations and project teams whose initiatives are seen as accelerating Pakistan’s transition toward becoming a fully digital nation.
The event’s broader honour roll included several other major public sector digital initiatives, with Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja recognized as Digital Visionary of the Year for her leadership on the Digital Nation Pakistan initiative and the country’s AI policy, while Allied Bank Limited CEO Aizid Razzaq Gill received the Digital Transformation Patron of the Year award. The National Database and Registration Authority also won three separate awards at the same ceremony, including recognition for its PakID mobile application, the Pakistan Online Visa System and the e-Sahulat platform operated by its subsidiary NADRA Technologies Limited, underscoring the scale and competitiveness of the inaugural awards across Pakistan’s digital governance landscape.
Speaking at the event, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja said digital transformation has moved beyond being solely a technology agenda to become a broader national development imperative, one that improves government efficiency, enhances service delivery and expands economic opportunities for citizens. For the RITI project specifically, the Best Digital Skills Initiative award adds formal recognition to its stated mission of building high demand technical capacity among young Pakistanis, with an emphasis on improving female participation in a technology workforce where women continue to remain significantly underrepresented across the country’s IT and IT enabled services sector.
