Reon Energy, a leading clean technology company, has announced a strategic collaboration with Arabian Yemen Cement Company Limited, a prominent player in Yemen’s cement industry.

The partnership focuses on addressing energy challenges in the cement sector through the implementation of an intelligent renewable microgrid. This microgrid includes a 13.5 MW solar power project and a 5.59 MWh Reflex Battery Energy Storage System powered by Reon’s Intelligent Energy Management Platform, SPARKTM.

The primary objectives of this collaboration are to reduce energy costs and minimize the carbon footprint by optimizing genset fuel efficiencies and reducing fuel consumption. The Reflex Battery Energy Storage System, featuring liquid-cooled batteries designed for harsh environments, coupled with the SPARKTM Microgrid Controller, ensures rapid response times (<250ms) to support various power sources, enhancing power system reliability.

This sustainable solution has the potential to cut down energy costs by up to 20%, leading to improved economies, increased productivity, and enhanced operational uptime for Arabian Yemen Cement. Reon’s CEO, Mujtaba Khan, expressed excitement about driving positive change in the energy landscape of the cement industry through this collaboration.

Arabian Yemen Cement Company Limited’s CEO, Waheeb Al-Azab, highlighted the partnership as a monumental stride towards sustainable energy practices, allowing the company to harness solar power, reduce its carbon footprint, and optimize fuel efficiency in operations.
