Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV has entered the Pakistani market as a technologically advanced plug-in hybrid SUV, combining electrified performance with practical range for daily commuting and long-distance travel. With a combined driving range of up to 1,400 kilometres and a pure electric capability of 170 kilometres, the vehicle is designed to reduce fuel dependency while providing uninterrupted mobility, offering a viable solution for the evolving needs of urban and intercity commuters. This introduction signals growing adoption of hybrid technology in Pakistan, bridging the gap between conventional fuel vehicles and fully electric solutions.

The Tiggo 9 PHEV leverages Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology, integrating a dedicated hybrid engine with a triple motor system and a 34.46 kWh battery. This setup delivers an industry-leading combined output of 610 horsepower and 920 Nm of torque, along with thermal efficiency of 44.5 percent, one of the highest globally for plug-in hybrids. The vehicle’s architecture allows seamless cooperation between engine, motors, battery, and transmission, highlighting Chery’s focus on efficiency and performance rather than adapting conventional petrol platforms for hybrid use. Such advancements showcase how automotive startups and tech-focused manufacturers are integrating sophisticated electrified systems to meet consumer expectations in emerging markets.

For the Pakistani startup and automotive ecosystem, the Tiggo 9 PHEV offers insights into how technology and design converge to enhance user experience. The cabin features a design-led approach with 78.9 percent soft-wrapped surfaces, a 15.6-inch infotainment display, and a 10.25-inch digital cluster, reflecting trends in digital interface integration for modern vehicles. Comfort and safety are further elevated with heated and ventilated seats, a 14-speaker Sony sound system, and Level 2+ driver assistance systems including automated parking, adaptive cruise control, and intelligent collision monitoring. This demonstrates how technology-driven features in vehicles are no longer exclusive to premium segments but are increasingly available in hybrid platforms.

Master Auto Engineering, part of the Master Group and partnered with Chery Automobile, has launched Tiggo 9 PHEV with an ex-factory price of PKR 13.694 million and a booking amount of PKR 3 million. With 10 3S dealerships already operational and plans to expand to 20 by 2027, the launch highlights the growing market interest in electrified and hybrid vehicles in Pakistan. For startups and businesses in the automotive tech sector, the Tiggo 9 PHEV exemplifies how plug-in hybrid technology can address challenges of rising fuel costs, limited charging infrastructure, and consumer demand for efficient, performance-oriented vehicles, positioning Pakistan as a receptive market for advanced mobility solutions.
