The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is taking significant steps to modernize its property management and transaction processes through the introduction of two major digital initiatives. These efforts are part of RDA’s broader strategy to ensure transparency, efficiency, and public trust in the real estate and urban development sectors of Rawalpindi. The authority’s latest plan focuses on creating a streamlined digital mechanism for the transfer of property ownership in approved housing and commercial projects.
During a recent meeting chaired by RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza, senior officials discussed the introduction of a digital system for transferring ownership of units in RDA-approved multi-storey buildings, including condominiums, residential apartments, commercial properties, and mixed-use developments. The authority also plans to implement a QR-coded allotment and transfer system for plots in private housing societies that fall under its jurisdiction. This initiative aims to create a secure and traceable record of all property transactions, significantly minimizing the risks associated with forgery or fraudulent transfers.
Kinza Murtaza highlighted that the digitization process would simplify administrative procedures while enhancing the overall transparency of the property registration system. By integrating technology into property management, RDA intends to eliminate manual bottlenecks, reduce the time required for ownership transfers, and ensure that every transaction is verifiable and tamper-proof. She emphasized that these efforts are designed to improve public confidence and contribute to better governance practices across the district. Murtaza directed all relevant departments to expedite the implementation of the approved proposals and to ensure that the systems are operational in the shortest possible time frame.
Senior officials attending the meeting included Additional Director General Mansoor Ahmad Khan and Chief Planner Muhammad Tahir Meo, along with other departmental heads. The Director General appreciated the efforts of the IT and planning teams, acknowledging their role in developing innovative solutions that align with the authority’s modernization goals. The introduction of digital mechanisms for property transactions marks a major shift toward secure, technology-driven governance in Rawalpindi’s real estate sector. These initiatives are expected to promote fair dealings, reduce administrative delays, and create a transparent environment for citizens and developers alike.
