Punjab Traffic Police have integrated the Driving Licence Issuance Management System with the Dastak Citizen App, making all driving licence services accessible through a single digital platform and removing the need for citizens to visit licensing centres in person for routine licence-related requirements.

The Driving Licence Issuance Management System website has been fully migrated to the Dastak platform, with Punjab Traffic Police directing all citizens requiring driving licence services to download and install the Dastak application, which is available on the Google Play Store for Android users. The integration means that the full range of services previously handled through the standalone Driving Licence Issuance Management System portal are now consolidated within the broader Dastak ecosystem, reducing the number of separate applications citizens need to manage and creating a more unified digital service experience across Punjab’s government platforms.

The Dastak Citizen App operates under the Punjab government’s Maryam Ki Dastak initiative, launched in June 2024 by the Punjab Information Technology Board to deliver government services directly to citizens at their doorsteps. Since its launch, the programme has received 1.2 million service requests, of which more than one million have been successfully completed, with around 164,000 still being processed. Thousands of trained Dastak facilitators have been registered across the province to ensure that services are delivered accurately and within the committed timeframes, providing a human delivery layer for citizens who may need physical assistance with document collection or submission alongside the digital interface. The initiative is currently operational across all 40 districts of Punjab and offers 76 distinct government services through the platform, ranging from domicile certificates, birth certificates, and copies of First Information Reports to property documents, with the addition of driving licence services expanding that catalogue further.

Citizens who need assistance or prefer to access services through a non-digital channel can contact the dedicated government helpline at 1202. The Punjab Information Technology Board has stated that the Dastak programme is fundamentally reshaping public service delivery across the province by cutting unnecessary office visits, reducing administrative friction, and bringing measurable efficiency improvements to both government operations and the everyday experience of citizens interacting with provincial services.
