Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), operating under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, has announced an open call for applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The organization is seeking a dynamic and visionary professional with a strong background in technology leadership, global business strategy, and digital economy growth to lead the next phase of Pakistan’s IT and ITeS development. The announcement underscores the growing importance of strategic leadership in accelerating the nation’s digital transformation and expanding its footprint in international technology markets.

As the primary government body responsible for promoting and facilitating Pakistan’s IT and ITeS exports, PSEB plays a central role in connecting local companies with global opportunities and investors. The new CEO will be expected to lead this mission by aligning national initiatives with international best practices and strengthening Pakistan’s position in the global digital economy. The ideal candidate will be someone who brings both vision and executional ability, capable of navigating global market trends while ensuring that Pakistan’s IT industry continues to achieve sustained growth and competitiveness. According to PSEB, the individual will also play a vital role in expanding export markets, promoting investment in emerging technologies, and enhancing Pakistan’s visibility as a trusted technology destination.

Under the leadership of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, PSEB has been instrumental in implementing a wide range of programs aimed at boosting IT exports, building industry capacity, and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors. From promoting IT startups to enabling skilled workforce development and facilitating international trade engagements, PSEB’s initiatives continue to define the contours of Pakistan’s evolving digital ecosystem. The upcoming appointment of a CEO comes at a pivotal time when Pakistan’s IT exports are experiencing consistent growth, and the sector is poised for greater integration into global value chains. The selected candidate will be tasked with guiding this momentum through policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and innovation-focused interventions that reinforce PSEB’s mandate.

The position calls for a leader who not only understands the technical and business dimensions of the IT industry but also appreciates the strategic role of technology in national development. The CEO will be responsible for formulating growth strategies, managing relationships with stakeholders across the public and private sectors, and ensuring that Pakistan’s IT and ITeS industries remain competitive in rapidly changing markets. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to national policy objectives and shape the future of one of Pakistan’s most dynamic sectors.

Applications for the position are open until November 4, 2025, and interested candidates can apply through the official link here. PSEB encourages experienced professionals with a track record of leadership and innovation in the technology sector to apply and help drive Pakistan’s vision for a digitally empowered and globally competitive IT economy.
