Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on advancing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development and digital transformation. The collaboration marks a key step toward enhancing PEC’s operational efficiency, promoting e-governance, and improving transparency through the adoption of innovative, technology-driven solutions.

The agreement was signed by Registrar PEC, Engr. Khadim Hussain Bhatti, and Chief Projects NADRA, Mr. Rehman Qamar, in the presence of Chairman PEC, Engr. Waseem Nazir, and Chairman NADRA, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Munir Afsar, HI(M), along with senior representatives from both organizations. The MoU lays out a framework for cooperation built on mutual benefit and institutional capacity building to better serve the public and the engineering community in Pakistan. Both institutions have agreed to collaborate closely on structured coordination, knowledge sharing, and the development of digital tools designed to enhance service delivery and governance mechanisms within PEC.

Under the terms of the MoU, NADRA will provide a range of technical services to PEC, including operational management, secure data hosting, and application development support. The collaboration will also focus on digitizing PEC’s election processes through secure and transparent systems, ensuring that future administrative operations align with modern governance standards. With NADRA’s expertise in digital identity and data management, PEC aims to transition toward a fully digital and interconnected ecosystem that not only streamlines internal workflows but also improves accessibility and efficiency for engineers and stakeholders across Pakistan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman PEC, Engr. Waseem Nazir, highlighted that this partnership represents a significant milestone in PEC’s journey toward modernization and its broader vision of “Smart PEC.” He noted that the collaboration with NADRA will enable PEC to deliver more transparent, secure, and technology-enabled services, aligning with the national agenda for digital transformation. Chairman NADRA, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Munir Afsar, emphasized that such partnerships between public institutions are vital for building an integrated digital infrastructure that supports innovation and data-driven governance.

This cooperation demonstrates PEC’s continued commitment to leveraging technology for institutional improvement and public service excellence. By aligning its operations with NADRA’s technical expertise, PEC aims to set a new benchmark for transparency, efficiency, and digital governance in Pakistan’s professional bodies. The collaboration not only supports the country’s digitalization objectives but also contributes to strengthening Pakistan’s engineering sector through improved systems, smarter data management, and a forward-thinking approach to technological advancement.
