Jazz has expanded its 5G footprint in Islamabad, bringing next generation connectivity to twenty two locations across the federal capital as part of its phased rollout strategy in Pakistan. The latest development reflects a gradual expansion of high speed mobile services, with the operator focusing on commercially active and strategically important areas where demand for faster data connectivity remains high. While the rollout is still limited in scope, it signals steady progress towards wider 5G adoption in the country’s urban centres.

According to the latest update, the newly activated locations include a mix of commercial hubs, residential sectors, and key administrative zones across Islamabad. Areas such as I 9 Markaz, G 11 Markaz, E 11 Markaz, G 10 Markaz, and G 8 Markaz are now part of the coverage footprint, along with selected sites in F 11, F 10, F 8, and F 7 sectors. The expansion also includes prominent locations such as Blue Area and the New Blue Area near the Jazz office, which are among the city’s busiest commercial districts. In addition, important government and institutional sites including National Assembly of Pakistan, Supreme Court of Pakistan, and the Diplomatic Enclave have been incorporated into the rollout, highlighting a targeted approach towards high traffic and high visibility locations.

The list also indicates partial deployment across several sectors, with 5G services currently active at selected sites rather than across entire areas. For instance, sectors such as G 9, G 6, G 5, and F 6 have coverage in specific نقاط, which means user experience may vary depending on exact location. This selective approach allows the operator to test network performance, manage capacity, and assess user demand before expanding coverage more broadly across the city. It also reflects the early stage nature of 5G deployment in Pakistan, where operators are gradually scaling infrastructure while maintaining service stability.

The expansion in Islamabad forms part of a wider trend in Pakistan’s telecom sector, where operators are rolling out 5G services in phases across major cities. By prioritising high demand locations and key administrative zones, Jazz is laying the groundwork for broader adoption of next generation mobile technology. As infrastructure development continues and more compatible devices become available, additional areas in Islamabad are expected to come online, contributing to improved connectivity and supporting the country’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.
