Pakistan’s IT and technology sector has achieved another remarkable milestone as exports reached a record $366 million in a single month, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). This performance represents a 21 percent year-on-year increase in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year, signaling the strong growth momentum of the country’s expanding digital economy. The record figures underscore the consistent efforts of public and private sector stakeholders working to elevate Pakistan’s global technology footprint.

The success comes as a result of collaboration across the national tech ecosystem, including Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA), and Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA). Together, these organizations have played a crucial role in strengthening the infrastructure, policy environment, and international visibility of Pakistan’s IT and digital services. Industry leaders believe that this growth reflects not only the resilience of local IT firms but also the increasing demand for Pakistani digital expertise in global markets, ranging from software development and cloud solutions to business process outsourcing and digital transformation services.

Pakistan’s digital sector continues to be a key contributor to the country’s economic stability and export growth. The recent figures also align with the nation recording its first current account surplus of $110 million, an encouraging sign of fiscal balance supported by strong service exports. Analysts suggest that this combination of tech sector expansion and macroeconomic improvement could position Pakistan as one of the most promising digital economies in the region. With increased focus on innovation, workforce development, and policy facilitation, Pakistan’s IT sector is emerging as a reliable engine for sustainable growth.

At PSEB, efforts remain centered on promoting Pakistani IT companies and freelancers in international markets, enhancing export potential through participation in global technology exhibitions, trade delegations, and capacity-building programs. The organization continues to focus on enabling innovation and digital readiness to ensure that Pakistani firms remain competitive in the evolving global landscape. This record export achievement reflects the combined vision of government and industry leaders to transform Pakistan into a leading Tech Destination, where technology serves as the foundation for national progress and international engagement.
