In a major leap forward for the telecom industry in Pakistan, Onic has announced that it is offering GPT-4o Premium by OpenAI, fully integrated within its mobile application, and completely free for all users. This unprecedented move establishes Onic as Pakistan’s first digital telecom brand to make advanced generative AI technology widely accessible—at no additional cost.

Globally, GPT-4o Premium, the latest conversational AI model developed by OpenAI, is available only through paid subscriptions. However, Onic has eliminated that barrier, embedding the technology directly into the Onic app. This strategic integration empowers users across Pakistan to benefit from world-class artificial intelligence tools for productivity, creativity, learning, and real-time decision-making.

Hatem Bamatraf, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of PTCL and Ufone 4G, highlighted the significance of the milestone. “Onic has consistently demonstrated a commitment to redefining what a digital telecom brand can be,” he said. “The integration of GPT-4o Premium into the Onic experience is not just a technological advancement, it is a step toward democratizing access to AI in Pakistan. We are proud to support a platform that puts innovation directly into the hands of the people.”

Omer Bin Tariq, Country Head of Onic Pakistan, echoed the sentiment, saying, “Making GPT-4o Premium available to all our users at no cost reflects our commitment to delivering meaningful innovation. By integrating this powerful AI directly into the Onic app, we are giving our customers easy access to tools that support creativity, productivity, and smarter everyday decisions.”

With GPT-4o now a native feature within the Onic app, users can interact with the AI assistant to draft content, brainstorm ideas, get answers to complex queries, and navigate day-to-day challenges. This seamless AI integration positions Onic users to stay ahead in both personal and professional spheres, providing a competitive edge in the digital age.

The move aligns with Onic’s broader vision of transforming telecommunications from basic connectivity to a platform of digital empowerment. More than just a mobile service provider, Onic has evolved into a lifestyle companion for Pakistan’s growing base of digital natives—individuals who seek more than just data and calls, and instead value integrated, intelligent solutions that improve how they live and work.

This development is particularly noteworthy in a global context, where telecom brands have yet to fully embrace large language models as part of customer-facing services. Onic’s leadership in this space sets a new benchmark not only for Pakistani telcos but for the entire global telecom industry.

As AI continues to play a pivotal role in redefining how people interact with technology, Onic’s latest offering brings the future of intelligent digital services into the present. With GPT-4o Premium now in the hands of everyday users, Onic has made a bold statement: the future of telecom is not just connected—it’s intelligent.
