Pakistan cellular market recorded modest changes in operator market shares during July 2026, with Jazz retaining its leading position while Zong and Ufone recorded gains, according to data from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. The figures show a competitive mobile market following major changes in the sector during 2026.
Jazz remained the largest cellular operator in Pakistan during July, although its market share declined slightly from the previous month. The operator held 36.09 percent of the market in July, compared with 36.25 percent in June, representing a decrease of 0.16 percentage points. Zong moved in the opposite direction, increasing its market share from 26.72 percent in June to 26.83 percent in July. This represents a gain of 0.11 percentage points. The figures indicate that while Jazz continues to maintain a significant lead over its competitors, the gap between the major operators continues to experience small monthly changes as subscribers move between networks and operators compete for customers.
Ufone also recorded an increase in its cellular market share during July. The operator reached 14.97 percent, compared with 14.91 percent in June, gaining 0.06 percentage points during the month. Telenor held 21.06 percent of the market in July, placing it behind Jazz and Zong but ahead of Ufone. Special Communications Organization accounted for 1.04 percent. The July figures show that Jazz, Zong, Telenor and Ufone continue to account for the overwhelming majority of Pakistan cellular market, with the leading operators maintaining distinct positions despite relatively small month to month movements.
The market figures come after significant developments in Pakistan telecom sector during 2026. PTCL completed the integration of Telenor Pakistan into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited, which operates Ufone, on July 1, 2026. The completion of the transaction marked the formal amalgamation of Telenor Pakistan into PTML, changing the structure of the telecommunications market. At the same time, the major operators have continued expanding their networks following the allocation of new spectrum in the 2026 5G auction. Jazz, Ufone and Zong secured spectrum during the March auction, while commercial 5G services have been introduced by operators following regulatory approvals.
The July market share data provides an indication of how Pakistan cellular sector is performing amid these broader changes. Jazz continues to lead with more than 36 percent of the market, while Zong remains in second place with 26.83 percent. Telenor recorded 21.06 percent and Ufone reached 14.97 percent, while Special Communications Organization held 1.04 percent. The relatively small monthly movements suggest that the overall ranking of major operators remained unchanged during July, even as individual companies gained or lost limited portions of market share. With 5G deployment, network investments and the integration of Telenor into Ufone reshaping the competitive environment, future PTA data will provide further insight into how subscriber distribution develops across Pakistan telecom market.
