Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has suspended the license of Fiber 2 Home over unpaid regulatory dues and failure to submit audited accounts for three consecutive financial years. The enforcement action was issued on August 26, 2026 under Section 23 of the Telecom Reorganization Act. PTA said Fiber 2 Home failed to meet its financial and reporting obligations for the financial years 2023, 2024 and 2025. Telecom licensees are required to submit annual audited accounts, auditor certificates and other reporting documents within 120 days of the end of each financial year. According to the enforcement order, Fiber 2 Home did not fulfill these requirements across the three periods and also failed to pay the associated regulatory dues. PTA had sent multiple notices and reminders to the company during each financial year, but the required documents and payments were not submitted. The authority issued correspondence for the 2023 financial year beginning in September 2023, followed by further reminders in October and November. Similar notices were issued for 2024 and 2025, with the company continuing to remain non-compliant.
PTA later issued a show cause notice to Fiber 2 Home on March 4, 2026, requiring the company to submit the outstanding accounts and clear its regulatory payments. The authority also scheduled hearings on May 14 and July 15 to provide the company an opportunity to respond. According to PTA, Fiber 2 Home neither submitted the required response nor appeared at the scheduled proceedings. The authority therefore proceeded on the basis of the available administrative record. The company also faces additional financial liabilities resulting from late payment charges, with regulations applying a 2 percent monthly penalty to outstanding dues from their respective due dates until payment. The accumulated charges add to the company financial obligations resulting from the three years of unpaid regulatory dues.
Under the enforcement order, Fiber 2 Home has been given one month to comply with PTA requirements and address the outstanding regulatory matters. Failure to comply within the specified period will result in automatic termination of its license. The company holds licenses issued in 2012 and 2018, both of which are now subject to the enforcement action. PTA has also directed other telecom licensees to immediately suspend services extended to Fiber 2 Home. The regulator said the notices were served at the addresses maintained by the licensee, allowing the authority to proceed with the case after the company failed to respond or attend the scheduled hearings.
The action against Fiber 2 Home highlights the regulatory requirements placed on licensed telecom operators in Pakistan, particularly regarding financial reporting and payment of regulatory dues. PTA has indicated that compliance with licensing conditions remains necessary for companies operating within the telecommunications sector. Fiber 2 Home now has 30 days to fulfill the outstanding requirements and avoid automatic termination of its licenses. If the company does not comply within that period, its licenses will be terminated under the enforcement order.
