The National Database and Registration Authority has rolled out version 5.6.6 of its Pak ID mobile app, introducing a new feature that allows users to preview their Computerized National Identity Card before submitting an application. The update also expands digital civil registration services to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, making more government services available directly through the app.

The latest version adds a View Card feature that lets applicants see how their CNIC will appear before completing the application process. Users can review all personal information displayed on the card and, if they spot any errors, return to the relevant section to make corrections before submitting the application, reducing the chances of mistakes making it into the final printed document.

In a separate development, NADRA has launched digital registration of births, deaths, marriages and divorces through the Pak ID app in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the first phase, the service is available across all village and neighborhood councils in Peshawar, allowing residents in the city to register these life events without needing to visit a registration office in person.

According to NADRA, the initiative will gradually expand to the rest of the province, allowing more citizens across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to register vital life events online over time. The authority has also invited users of the app to share feedback and suggest new features they would like to see in future updates, signaling further changes to the platform as adoption grows across the country.
