National Database and Registration Authority has launched a comprehensively revamped digital platform designed to consolidate Pakistan’s identity and civil registration services into a single, structured, and more accessible system for citizens both within the country and abroad. The new platform is designed as a fully integrated digital system, offering easier access to key services such as Computerised National Identity Cards, National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis, Pakistan Origin Cards, Family Registration Certificates, Child Registration Certificates, and other certification processes, reflecting NADRA’s broader shift from traditional paper-based systems to one of the world’s largest biometric identity frameworks.
A major feature of the platform is the Geospatially Referenced Demographic Information System, which allows users to view and analyse registration data through interactive maps, provides district-level comparisons of census and registration data, and offers downloadable thematic maps alongside statistical and analytical data including national indicators, provincial breakdowns, and trends. A dedicated Map Gallery has been added to support research activities and planning, while the platform also integrates an advanced system for tracking the registration of key life events including births, deaths, marriages, and divorces in real time, connecting union council-level records into the national framework. The combination of geospatial data visualisation with civil registration tracking represents a meaningful step towards making NADRA’s administrative data more useful to policymakers, researchers, and planning bodies who need granular, up-to-date demographic information.
NADRA has improved its verification services for banks, telecommunications companies, and government institutions by bringing them under one umbrella, consolidating what had previously been fragmented access points into a single verification section on the platform. The complaint registration and resolution mechanism has been upgraded to ensure faster handling of public grievances, while the NADRA career portal now features a simplified online application process using Pak ID login for verification, providing easier access to job opportunities at the authority. Customer support has been expanded with a 24-hour call centre, an interactive voice response system, and email support, with complaint resolution performance now actively tracked. The website also provides comprehensive guidance on NADRA’s network of registration centres and mobile registration vans across Pakistan and overseas, with information on right to information provisions and a redesigned media centre intended to improve transparency and public engagement with the authority’s work.
