Syed Amin Ul Haque, the federal minister for information technology and telecommunications, has given the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL) officials instructions to quickly address the current network problems.

The minister stated that people are impacted by the situation and instructed the authorities to find and fix the network problems.

The IT Minister claims that the recent rain and flooding have caused technical issues with PTCL’s optical fibre network in the country’s northern and central regions. As a result, there have been issues with connectivity to the internet since this morning.

The PTCL authorities reacted by saying that they are striving to restore internet service as soon as possible for the customers’ comfort. Customers’ worries were addressed by PTCL in a recent tweet, which read, “PTCL has detected an issue in data networks between South and North which is causing internet connectivity issues.”
