Invest2Innovate Startup Showcase: 2 Startups Secure Funding

Invest2Innovate hosted a startup showcase for the graduating companies from their recent acceleration cycle, inviting select few guests and investors for startups to pitch. The current batch of the i2i accelerator has eight companies in their portfolio including, Polly and Other Stories, Queno, Paimona, Secret Stash, Organic Jiyo, EasyInsurance, Mauqa.Online and Saad Suthra Sheher.

The highlight of the event was that Shahida Saleem, who runs Impact Network, has committed to PKR 1mn to two startups from the present cohort, including:

  1. Mauqa Online; is an on-demand service for verified maid or domestic helpers for temporary needs. These are categorized under various areas including cleaning, washing, ironing, cooking or other household chores, and the payment is made on an hourly basis.
  2. Saaf Suthra Shehr (Pappu Recycles); is a private limited company, that focuses on waste management and

We’re in awe of the two ideas and slightly jealous if we may admit, especially since we are reporting from a rather messy metropolis in Pakistan! Who would’ve thought Islamabad needed these services more?!

Maliha Javed Khan, Founder of EasyInsurance, is currently representing Pakistan at the 1776 Challenge in Washington, United States, and was represented by her daughter who presented their idea to the attendees.

The Impact Network, founded on 1st March 2018, is a formal collaboration between Incubation Centers, Social Entrepreneurship Support Organizations, Universities, Public Sector, Donors and Investors to stimulate, support and scale critical social innovations. The Network is supported by the PEP Foundation and has been designed with the specific objective of promoting and guiding social innovations that have the potential to solve large national problems.
