InDrive, the global ride-hailing and urban services platform, has witnessed significant growth in Pakistan, marking a strong year of expansion and innovation. The company reported a 26% increase in rides and a 25% growth in active users in 2024, driven largely by its unique ‘fair price’ model. This system allows passengers and drivers to negotiate fares instead of relying on fixed pricing, providing flexibility and affordability in an increasingly competitive ride-hailing market. The success of this approach has helped InDrive solidify its presence in Pakistan’s urban mobility sector.

Since entering the Pakistani market in 2021, InDrive has expanded its services across 20 cities for local rides and now covers 200 cities for intercity travel. This rapid expansion has positioned the platform as a leading player in transportation, offering an alternative to traditional ride-hailing services. InDrive’s presence is especially strong in major urban centers like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, where commuters appreciate the flexibility in fare negotiations, particularly amid rising fuel costs and economic uncertainty.

Beyond passenger transportation, InDrive has diversified its offerings by venturing into logistics, providing courier and freight services to individuals and businesses. This expansion has been particularly beneficial for small enterprises, which rely on timely deliveries to maintain operations. During peak seasons in 2023, the demand for InDrive’s courier services doubled, highlighting its growing role in Pakistan’s logistics sector. The company’s ability to adapt its services to local market needs has contributed to its success in the country.

InDrive’s commitment to Pakistan extends beyond transportation, as the company actively invests in social initiatives to support local communities. One of its most notable contributions has been a Rs. 10 million donation to the Akhuwat Foundation for the rebuilding of schools in flood-affected areas of Thatta and Thar. These funds have helped restore educational facilities for children impacted by natural disasters, reflecting InDrive’s dedication to corporate social responsibility. Additionally, the company collaborated with HANDS Pakistan, investing Rs. 7.5 million in a project aimed at establishing 100 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This initiative has provided individuals with the opportunity to achieve financial independence, further embedding InDrive as a key contributor to Pakistan’s socioeconomic development.

As part of its long-term growth strategy, InDrive is strengthening its presence in Pakistan’s technology sector. The company is in the process of setting up an IT development hub in Lahore, which will integrate local tech professionals into its global operations. This move is expected to create employment opportunities and contribute to Pakistan’s growing digital economy. Additionally, InDrive is exploring sustainable transportation solutions, with plans to introduce electric vehicle (EV) rides as part of its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting eco-friendly travel options.

Looking ahead, InDrive is also considering the launch of premium ride-hailing services to cater to evolving customer preferences. Business-class ride options are expected to be introduced, providing a higher-end alternative for corporate travelers and customers seeking more luxurious transport solutions. This expansion into premium mobility services aligns with broader market trends in Pakistan, where demand for comfortable and exclusive ride-hailing options is on the rise.

With its strong growth trajectory, strategic investments, and commitment to social responsibility, InDrive continues to reshape urban mobility in Pakistan. By focusing on customer-centric innovation, expanding its technological footprint, and supporting local communities, the company is well-positioned to play a crucial role in the country’s transportation and digital transformation landscape. As it moves forward, InDrive’s efforts in Pakistan are expected to further drive economic growth, enhance mobility options, and provide sustainable solutions for a rapidly evolving urban ecosystem.
