Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has taken a significant step towards digital transformation by signing an addendum with 1LINK to onboard the Power Information Technology Company (PITC) for seamless online data connectivity. This collaboration aims to integrate billing data across all banking channels, including the IESCO Smart Application, ensuring a more efficient and automated process for customers.

The signing ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including Mr. Tahir Masood, Chairman of IESCO, Dr. Muhammad Kashif Shahzad, CEO of PITC, and Mr. Bashir Khan, COO of 1LINK. Their presence underscored the importance of this partnership in modernizing Pakistan’s utility billing systems through advanced fintech solutions.

By eliminating the need for manual data uploads, this initiative will significantly enhance operational efficiency for IESCO and its customers. Users will benefit from real-time billing data synchronization, reducing delays and errors in payment processing. The integration with 1LINK—Pakistan’s largest interbank payment network—ensures that transactions across all connected banking platforms are streamlined, making bill payments faster and more secure.

For IESCO, this collaboration marks a major leap in its digital transformation journey. The company has been actively working on leveraging technology to improve customer service, and this partnership aligns with its goal of making utility payments hassle-free. PITC, known for its expertise in digital solutions for the power sector, will provide the necessary technical infrastructure to facilitate smooth data exchange between IESCO and financial institutions.

With Pakistan’s financial ecosystem rapidly evolving, such integrations between utility providers and fintech enablers are crucial in enhancing digital payments. This move not only strengthens the energy sector’s reliance on digital financial solutions but also reflects the broader trend of financial institutions and service providers working together to drive innovation.

As digital payments become the norm, partnerships like this set the foundation for a more interconnected and efficient financial landscape in Pakistan. With improved data connectivity and automated processes, customers can expect a more seamless experience in managing their electricity bills, ultimately leading to greater adoption of digital payment solutions in the country.
