Huawei Morocco and Morocco’s Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports have jointly announced the launch of the third edition of DigiSchool, a national programme designed to strengthen the digital skills of students in rural areas and advance the digital transformation of the country’s education system. Building on results achieved in previous editions and growing support from education stakeholders, the 2026 edition represents the most ambitious iteration of the programme yet, both in its geographic reach and the depth of its pedagogical framework.

The scale of the third edition is considerable. Sixty alumni teachers from previous editions will be mobilised to support training sessions, while 300 new teachers will be trained across all twelve regions of Morocco. Through a cascade training model, the programme also aims to extend its reach to an additional 5,000 teachers indirectly. On the student side, 12,500 young people will be directly engaged through DigiSchool clubs established in 300 schools, while a further 50,000 students are expected to be introduced to technology and innovation through indirect programme channels. The programme content covers a wide spectrum of skills including design thinking, project management, sustainability, business modelling applied to information technology projects, data management, fundraising, and presentation skills, alongside dedicated modules in EdTech and digital-age pedagogy. From a technical standpoint, students and teachers will work with programming languages including Scratch and Python, as well as vibe coding, robotics, virtual and augmented reality, and the Internet of Things.

The programme will unfold across four structured phases. The first involves intensive three-day in-person training sessions organised across Morocco’s regions, followed by an ongoing monitoring and support phase featuring online sessions, classroom observation, and continuous pedagogical assistance. The third phase introduces technology fairs in schools and 12 regional hackathons designed to identify and celebrate the most innovative student projects. Selected teams from these competitions will then advance to a three-day national bootcamp, culminating in a final presentation before a national jury at Demo Day. Anis Liu, Vice President of Huawei Morocco, described DigiSchool as an initiative aimed at fostering a new educational dynamic where technology becomes a genuine driver of learning, creativity, and equal opportunity, and reaffirmed the company’s determination to go further alongside institutional partners by supporting teachers, stimulating student engagement, and building a culture of innovation that is inclusive and future-oriented across all regions of the country.
