Syed Amin ul Haque, the Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, urged the National Information Technology Board (NITB) to effectively market its products at domestic and international levels, aiming to promote the “Made in Pakistan” brand on a global scale. The 4th meeting of NITB, chaired by Minister Amin ul Haque at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, discussed various aspects of the organization’s progress.

During the meeting, the Chairman and Board Members welcomed Babar Majid Bhatti, the newly elected Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITB. The board acknowledged the steps taken by the CEO, who assumed office on April 10, within the first 45 days, and appreciated his vision for the improvement of the respective sectors.

Minister Amin ul Haque emphasized the importance of meritocracy and encouraged diligent employees within the organization. He directed the CEO to ensure strict adherence to rules and regulations. The Minister expressed confidence in the CEO’s skills, competence, and international experience, hoping that he would lead NITB towards its desired goals.

Highlighting the increased responsibilities of NITB after attaining autonomous status, Minister Amin ul Haque stressed the need for effective marketing of NITB’s products at both domestic and international levels. This approach aims to showcase the unique brand value of “Made in Pakistan” globally.

The meeting extensively discussed rules and regulations, ongoing projects, and upcoming projects of NITB as an autonomous body. The relevant committees of the Board were assigned to review and provide input on these matters.

The meeting was attended by Secretary IT Navid A. Shaikh, Secretary NTISB Mansoor Sehgal, JEA Science & Technology Zawwar Hussain, former Secretary Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Member IT Syed Junaid Imam, Director General to Minister Aftab Rashid, while Director General Admin and HR Imran Haider and Director General Telecom Faisal Ratiyal assisted the board in their respective capacities.
