Adaptive Electric has unveiled an ambitious plan to establish 5,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across Pakistan, marking a significant step towards promoting E-Mobility in the country. The initiative is aimed at reducing reliance on fossil fuels, lowering transportation costs, and contributing to a more environmentally sustainable future. By targeting various sectors, Adaptive Electric is positioning itself as a key player in Pakistan’s transition to clean energy solutions.

The company’s commitment to this transformation is evident in its rapid progress, having already secured multiple contracts with off-takers of the technology. A major milestone in this journey was the recent agreement between Adaptive Electric and Puma Energy, under which 624 Puma fuel stations across Pakistan will be equipped with fast EV charging capabilities. This collaboration underscores the shared vision of both entities to significantly reduce carbon emissions through the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.

The signing ceremony between Adaptive Electric and Puma Energy was hailed as a landmark event, symbolizing a crucial leap forward for Pakistan’s EV infrastructure. Speaking at the event, Shaaf Mehboob, CEO of Adaptive Electric, highlighted the impact of this initiative, stating that highways, urban centers, and semi-urban areas across the country would soon be equipped with state-of-the-art charging facilities. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Government of Pakistan’s broader vision for sustainable transportation and energy efficiency.

The government has been actively facilitating stakeholders in the E-Mobility sector, offering policy incentives and regulated tariffs to encourage investments in EV infrastructure. Shaaf Mehboob acknowledged the support provided by the Prime Minister and key departments, particularly the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA), for implementing policies that make EV charging a viable and attractive option for operators. Engineer Hijab Khan, a key figure in the project, confirmed that the initial site screenings and technical feasibility assessments have been completed. The rollout is set to commence later this year, with 62 out of the 624 identified stations being the first to be equipped with charging infrastructure.

To ensure high-quality and efficient charging solutions, Adaptive Electric has partnered with Schneider Electric, a globally renowned provider of energy management and automation technology. This collaboration brings cutting-edge technology and robust backend support to Pakistan’s EV charging network, enhancing the reliability and performance of the system. The use of Schneider’s advanced solutions is expected to facilitate a seamless charging experience for EV users, further encouraging the adoption of electric mobility.

Fayaz Khan, CEO of Puma Energy, highlighted the environmental benefits of the project, stating that each vehicle charged at these stations would contribute to reducing carbon emissions by 17-30% compared to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. He also pointed out that Puma Energy’s widespread network of fuel stations, strategically located across Pakistan, will play a crucial role in increasing the accessibility of EV charging facilities. He noted that some regions, which previously lacked the infrastructure to support electric vehicles, would now see a rise in EV usage, thanks to this expansion.

The introduction of a nationwide EV charging network is expected to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Pakistan, addressing a key barrier that has deterred many from making the switch. With the backing of government policies, corporate partnerships, and advanced technology providers, Adaptive Electric’s initiative is poised to reshape Pakistan’s transportation landscape. The project not only supports the country’s environmental commitments but also opens up new opportunities for economic growth, technological advancement, and energy efficiency.

As the rollout begins, the success of this initiative will depend on sustained collaboration between the public and private sectors, consumer adoption, and continuous improvements in charging technology. With a clear roadmap and strong partnerships in place, Adaptive Electric is set to play a leading role in driving Pakistan towards a cleaner, more sustainable future in mobility.
