Pakistan’s first Voice AI Hack Week, organized by Uplift AI, begins tomorrow and will run across two weekends, bringing together developers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to build voice-enabled applications. With mentorship from engineers at Amazon, Apple, and Google, as well as unique incentives including $50,000 in credits and a direct interview with Y Combinator for the winning team, the event sets the stage for ambitious projects in artificial intelligence and applied technology.

Voice communication plays a central role in everyday life in Pakistan, where voice notes are frequently used for both personal and business interactions. Recognizing this, Uplift AI has emphasized that building voice-enabled applications has the potential to unlock mass-market adoption and create future-ready solutions. The hack week is structured to encourage participants to experiment with integrating voice AI into practical ideas and to test how these applications can be scaled for real-world use. By focusing on Urdu and regional language support, Uplift AI aims to make voice AI more accessible and relevant to the local context.

The hackathon is divided into two phases. The first phase takes place on the weekend of October 4–5, during which participants will build functional applications with voice AI. The second phase, scheduled for October 10–11, serves as the finals, where teams refine their initial projects and present them for evaluation. Uplift AI has developed state-of-the-art voice models specifically for Urdu and several other regional languages, accompanied by developer-friendly APIs. This ensures participants can integrate voice capabilities quickly and bring their prototypes to life within the short timeframe of the hack week.

To motivate and support participants, Uplift AI has partnered with leading global technology companies to provide one-on-one mentorship. Engineers from Apple, AWS, and Google will be available to guide teams through technical challenges, enhancing the learning experience and increasing the likelihood of producing viable products. In addition, the hackathon offers one of the most attractive prize packages seen in Pakistan’s startup ecosystem. The winning team will bypass the application process and secure a direct interview with Y Combinator, one of the world’s most renowned startup accelerators. The prize also includes $50,000 worth of credits, divided equally between Uplift AI credits and cloud credits, offering both immediate resources and long-term support to develop their solutions further.

Registrations and participation details are available on the official event website at https://upliftai.org/hack-week. By combining local innovation with global mentorship, Pakistan’s Voice AI Hack Week is expected to draw significant interest from the country’s growing community of developers and entrepreneurs, offering them a platform to test ideas and strengthen the role of artificial intelligence in the region.
