In order to build communication between the afflicted individuals, their loved ones, and rescue teams and to help relief efforts, the Pakistani telecom provider Ufone 4G is offering free calls in flood-stricken regions.

In the flood-affected areas, PTCL and Ufone 4G would offer free calls between Ufone and Ufone and on their respective numbers. Both prepaid and postpaid users may take advantage of this offer. Customers of Ufone can use the service by dialling *4357#.

Users of Ufone 4G can currently access this programme in the following locations: Barkhan, Sibi, Kalat, Matiari, Bolan, Jacobabad, Mastung, Naushahro Firoz, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Musakhel, Khairpur, Naseerabad, Kashmore, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Sukkur, Rajanpur, Jaffarabad, Larkana, Thatta, Dadu.

Speaking on the development, Hatem Bamatraf, President & Group CEO, PTCL & Ufone, said:

“We are aware of the natural disaster that has impacted several areas of Pakistan and feel it is our responsibility to provide assistance to the afflicted communities. We believe that the free calls would enable authorities and relief workers to reach the people who are most in need of rescue and assistance. Given the extent of the destruction, we are aware that many of the individuals utilising our network in the disaster-hit regions may not have access to mobile recharge.”

The PTCL Group company Ufone 4G, which takes great pleasure in being Pakistani, considers it to be part of its patriotic duty to assist those in need.

The Group is undertaking multiple initiatives to facilitate flood-affected communities in line with its commitment to fostering social well-being both in emergency and peacetime.
