In order to make it easier for people who are living in remote areas with limited internet, many mainstream apps have launched a Lite version that takes up less data as compared the original. Therefore following the footsteps of Facebook, Whatsapp etc Uber the ride hailing service has officially launched Uber Lite in its South Asian markets back in June 2018.

The Lighter version of Uber has finally come to Pakistan as well. Uber Lite takes about 5MB on Android. Moreover, it also uses less power and significantly less data. The Lite version is also ideal for people who do not have enough space in their phones. Uber Lite initially was only launched for developing markets of India but slowly the company is extending it to other markets as well.

Furthermore, Uber Lite has the same functionality and features as the Uber full sized app. However, at the moment, the Uber Lite App is only available at the Playstore for Android users as it is soon to be launched for iOS.
