Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) in Jamshoro, in collaboration with ASPIRE Pakistan, has announced a free online training program on artificial intelligence (AI) in research for undergraduates. The program is designed to equip undergraduate medical and dental students with practical AI skills for research. The announcement was shared by Dr. Shazma Tahseen, who described it as a program for AI in research for undergraduate students at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences. It offers students in the medical and dental fields a way to learn how AI tools can be used in research work.

The highlights of the program include interactive, instructor led online sessions and 12 Continuing Medical Education (CME) points. Participants will receive hands-on training with AI research tools, together with an AI toolkit and ready to use research templates. These materials are meant to allow students to apply what they learn in their own research projects, instead of only listening to lectures, and the templates provide a starting point for those who have not yet written a research paper. The CME points give the training a recognized value for the participants who complete it.

The program will run from November 14 to December 26, 2026, and sessions will be held on weekends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time. The training is conducted online, and registration is free. Weekend sessions of two hours each allow students to join without missing their classes during the week, and the online format makes it possible for students from different places to take part. The announcement did not give the number of places or a registration deadline, so interested students will need to check the registration details through the organizers.

The program features an experienced panel of facilitators from Pakistan and international institutions, who bring diverse expertise in AI, research, technology and academic practice. The post named Dr Shahzad Ahmed Memon, Andy Lucchesi, Rafeeq Rehman, Faisal Saeed, Asadullah Shah and Najeed Ahmed khan in connection with the announcement. It was shared with hashtags that include AIinResearch, MedicalEducation, UndergraduateResearch, LUMHS, AspirePakistan and HealthcareInnovation.
