On April 30, 2025, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, the Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, officially inaugurated the Anadolu Creator Lab at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), marking a significant step in strengthening the academic and technological ties between the two nations. The state-of-the-art facility is housed within the National Science and Technology Park (NSTP), a premier research and development hub in Pakistan, and it is designed to foster innovation and advance interdisciplinary research across several key technological fields, including robotics, electronics, coding, algorithmic thinking, and design.

The initiative is part of the ongoing collaboration between Turkiye and Pakistan, with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) providing the essential support for the establishment of the lab. The lab will serve as a breeding ground for student and researcher innovation, offering them the necessary tools and resources to prototype new ideas and push the boundaries of technological advancements in multiple sectors.

During the inauguration ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Neziroglu underscored the strategic importance of the Anadolu Creator Lab, stating, “This lab represents a major step forward in our shared vision of technological advancement. It will empower students and researchers to innovate, prototype, and explore new frontiers in science and technology.” His words highlighted how this initiative fits into the broader agenda of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in areas that are key to shaping the future of technology.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, NUST Rector Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif, and the Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, along with students, faculty members, and other guests. The event was also a demonstration of the growing support from the Turkish government to nurture scientific excellence in Pakistan.

Dr. Neziroglu took the opportunity to highlight TIKA’s expanding footprint in Pakistan’s academic landscape. Over the past year, TIKA has supported the development of high-tech labs in multiple universities across Pakistan, including quantum optics labs, media labs, and zoological diversity labs, all of which contribute to the nation’s scientific development. These projects are designed to empower Pakistani students and foster the development of cutting-edge technology in the country.

“These efforts reflect TIKA’s commitment to empowering Pakistani youth and promoting scientific excellence. It is also a testament to the strong and historic ties between our two brotherly nations,” Dr. Neziroglu remarked. His words were a testament to the long-standing relationship between Turkiye and Pakistan, a partnership that has flourished for over 78 years.

In a moving speech, the ambassador emphasized the depth of the bilateral relationship between Turkiye and Pakistan, calling it one rooted in “eternal brotherhood.” He stated, “For 78 years, our relations have remained excellent and uninterrupted. We celebrate each other’s successes, share each other’s sorrows, and stand together in every challenge.” His words resonated with the attendees, highlighting the mutual respect and cooperation between the two countries.

The event concluded with Dr. Neziroglu extending his gratitude to the Pakistani authorities and TIKA officials for their continuous support in advancing academic and technological cooperation. He expressed hope that the Anadolu Creator Lab would serve as a beacon for future collaborations in research, innovation, and technological advancement, benefiting students, researchers, and the larger community.

The opening of the Anadolu Creator Lab represents a key moment in the academic and technological partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye, with the lab poised to play a crucial role in developing the next generation of tech innovators and entrepreneurs in the region.
