Total Communications Organizes Conference On E-Banking

The 16th Conference and Exhibition on e-Banking took place on the 9th of August 2018 at the PC Hotel in Karachi organized by the Total Communications Group and supported by Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) and 1Link.

The conference kick-started with a welcome speech by Jehan Ara, President P@SHA, followed by a keynote presentation from Mr. Habib Hana, MD Diebold Nixdorf MEA. The conference saw to multiple panel discussions. The points of discussions at the panel were: Millenial Banking, with Najeeb Agrawalla CEO 1Link as moderator;

The panelists comprised of: Sohail Aziz Awan, Chief Digital Banking Group ABL; Sharjeel Shahid, Group Officer Bank Alfalah; Javed Yousuf Edhi, Group Head Technology and Digital Innovation Silk Bank; and Shahzad Shahid CEO TPS.

The second panel saw to a discussion on Contactless: Where Do We Stand? Moderated by Mr. Tamer Kashef, VP MEA Sales Excellence and Business Transformation at Mastercard.  Panelists for this were: Gihane Mourad, Sales Director ME, NSME and Indirect Channels Gemalto; Ali Akbar, Director Payment Products and Innovations MEA IDEMIA; Kamran Riaz Malik, Area Sales Manager Finance Services Solutions G+D Mobile Security. Imran Qureshi, President Access Group; Shariq Mubeen, Head of ADC Meezan Bank; Farrukh Amlani, Chief Operating Officer NAYAPAY.

The third and final panel for the evening was on the topic of Striking Balance Between Customer Convenience and Banks. The panel was moderated by Shariq Mubeen, Meezan Bank. The panelists for this were: Sohail Aziz Awan, Chief Digital Banking Officer ABL; Omer Salimullah, Head of Open Banking and Ecosystem Development JS Bank; Fareed Hussain, CIO HBL; Ahmed Saqib Asad, CIO Soneri Bank Ltd.; Sajid Hussain, SEVP Group Executive Compliance UBL.

The conference consisted of various presentations on topics such as the impact of cash on e-banking, becoming a digital bank, omni channels digital journey biometrics, and the anatomy of Pakistan’s ecommerce industry.
