PM has taken notice over the delay in issuance of visa to the foreign investors

The visa of 90000 Chinese employees was being delayed over which the PM took notice:   Due to red-tape ridden system and hurdles from bureaucratic circles, it has been found that 90,000 professionals are been kept on the waiting list for the issuance of visa. These professionals are the requirement of ZTE, Huawei Telecom and Zong in Pakistan for the assistance and guidance in the upcoming projects to these telecom operators. The PM took notice for this and has asked the officials to immediately issue the visas to these professionals, as it’s a matter of foreign investment. PM has been promised of a foreign investment package of $32 billion from Chinese companies.

Telecom operators to be examined over their alleged taxes

Taxes collected by the consumers are not being deposited in NAB:  During a meeting, that was held to review the 3G auction, Senator Rubina Khalid raised the issue that two years back, in July 2012, it was declared by the NAB that all the telecom operators have not deposited the sales tax worth Rs. 47 billion, which they have already collected from their customers. In this regard the senate pointed a finger towards PTA. In reply to that, PTA said that the concern for this issue falls under the eye of FBR. The members of committee blamed regulators for taking notice of this the matter. Chairperson Senator Kalsoom Parveen was asked to call in PTA and FBR again to review the matter.

Urdu version of Firefox

Beaconhouse National University, Lahore campus, organizes demo of Urdu version for Firefox:  The sole objective for this event was to make spread awareness to the people of recent updates in the browser. The demo working of Urdu version of Firefox was also presented which is under the development process by Mozilla Pakistan. The new operating system Mozilla Firefox OS was reviewed, which will also be operating in smartphones and tablets. Different activities were performed during the event along with gift hampers, were given to the participants as well.

Intel Pakistan celebrating 2nd Annual Mobility Day

Islamabad: Intel organizing Annual Mobility Day: Yesterday Intel Pakistan was celebrating the annual mobility day. The best of Intel solutions were displayed along with a review of the plans for the upcoming years, and what is in progress. Country manager Naveed Siraj declared that they will be offering best mobile experiences to the users. He also highlighted, about  people have this misconception that emerging markets fail which is not true at all and is a mere myth.
