Mobilink Offers Balance

Mobilink has brought Super Balance offer for all its prepaid customers. Smartphones to Create a Storm

Smartphone penetration is likely to increase with its sales also going higher.  United Mobile Director Ejaz Hussain revealed that currently smartphones form less than a fifth of the company’s monthly imports but the number will go up. “Only 15% of our monthly mobile phone imports are smartphones. This number can increase by 50% within a year once 3G service is available in the country,” Hussain told The Express Tribune because of the rollout of 3G technology.

Pakistan shares 0.5pc only in Halal food market

Federal Minister for Science & Technology Zahid Hamid has said that Pakistan despite having great potential in Halal food was sharing only 0.5 per cent of international market as other countries’ share was $3 trillion annually.   The minister was speaking at a meeting held here under his chairmanship to discuss draft bill of Pakistan Halal Authority 2014. The meeting was attended by Kamran Ali Qureshi, Federal Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology, Justice (retd) Khalil ur Rehman, Chairman Punjab Halal Regularity Authority, representatives of federal ministries of science & technology, religious affairs, commerce, finance and Establishment Division, and all the four provinces and Giligit-Baltistan.
