Telenor Pakistan has announced a strong financial performance for the first quarter of 2025, posting total revenue of Rs. 33 billion, representing an 8.7 percent increase compared to Rs. 30.35 billion in the same quarter last year. This growth reflects the company’s resilience amid improving macroeconomic conditions and strategic operational improvements.

The latest results from the Telenor Group reveal that Telenor Pakistan’s total service revenues for January to March 2025 rose by 14 percent year-on-year (YoY), increasing from Rs. 23.76 billion to Rs. 27.09 billion. A key factor driving this revenue growth is the company’s rising average revenue per user (ARPU), which climbed 12 percent YoY during the quarter, boosted by a favorable economic environment and declining energy prices.

Telenor Pakistan’s profitability also improved in Q1 2025, with gross profit increasing by 9.2 percent YoY from Rs. 27.29 billion to Rs. 29.81 billion. This growth underscores the efficiency of the company’s cost management and service expansion efforts.

In terms of investment, Telenor Pakistan increased its capital expenditure (CAPEX) by 21.5 percent YoY to Rs. 1.7 billion in the first quarter, up from Rs. 1.43 billion in Q1 2024. This increase in CAPEX reflects ongoing efforts to enhance network infrastructure and service quality to meet rising customer demand.

Adjusted EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) also showed a strong performance, rising 18.7 percent YoY to Rs. 14.94 billion from Rs. 12.58 billion in the same period last year. This highlights the company’s improving operational efficiency and growing profitability.

For the full year of 2024, Telenor Pakistan reported total revenue of Rs. 123 billion (approximately NOK 4,750 million), marking a solid foundation for continued growth in 2025.

Telenor’s Asian portfolio is diverse and strategically positioned, including full ownership of Telenor Pakistan, a 55.8 percent stake in Grameenphone (Bangladesh), 33.1 percent in CelcomDigi (Malaysia), 30.3 percent in True Corporation (Thailand), and a 55 percent stake in Easypaisa (Pakistan). The company also maintains regional offices in Bangkok and Singapore to support its operations.

Telenor Pakistan’s robust Q1 performance demonstrates its commitment to expanding telecom services and digital solutions in Pakistan while navigating an evolving economic landscape. With ongoing investments in network and technology, Telenor continues to strengthen its market position and contribute to Pakistan’s digital growth journey.
