South of Midnight, the action adventure title developed by Compulsion Games, is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 on March 31, 2026. The developer confirmed the release timeline along with a new trailer for the game, marking the first time the title will appear on platforms beyond the Xbox Series X and Series S ecosystem. The game was initially introduced as a console exclusive under Xbox Game Studios and launched last year for Xbox platforms, where it gained attention for its narrative driven experience and distinctive artistic presentation.

The upcoming launch will make South Of Midnight one of the first previously Xbox Series console exclusive titles to expand to competing platforms in 2026. Earlier announcements had indicated that the game would reach additional systems sometime in the spring of 2026, but the developer has now confirmed a specific release date at the end of March. The expansion to new platforms follows a broader trend in which several titles developed under Xbox Game Studios are gradually appearing on additional consoles, broadening their audience. Industry observers have also noted that another well known franchise entry, Halo Campaign Evolved, is expected to arrive on PlayStation 5 later this year.

South Of Midnight is set in a stylized version of the American South and places strong emphasis on storytelling, character performances, and visual design. Reviews following its original release highlighted its strong narrative direction, detailed animation, and a soundtrack that contributes significantly to the atmosphere of the game. While critics praised the game’s creative design and artistic elements, some noted that the combat mechanics and platforming sequences were less memorable compared with its narrative strengths. Despite these points, the game was widely considered an engaging experience for players interested in story driven titles.

With the upcoming release on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, the title is expected to reach a wider player base across different gaming ecosystems. The new versions will allow audiences on these platforms to experience the same narrative focused adventure that previously launched within the Xbox console environment. The confirmed March 31 release date positions South Of Midnight as one of the notable multi platform gaming releases arriving at the end of the month.
