Shadiyana, a Pakistan-based wedding technology startup, has successfully raised $800,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Indus Valley Capital. The platform, positioned as the country’s first end-to-end wedding planning solution, aims to bring structure, transparency, and efficiency to Pakistan’s Rs900 billion wedding industry, which has long been fragmented and offline despite hosting millions of celebrations annually. The founders, Izzah Zaman and Neelam Shoaib, are software engineers and industry outsiders who have built the platform from the ground up, leveraging their technical expertise and a fresh perspective to address a deeply underserved market.

The startup has already onboarded over 600 vendors and reached more than 500,000 users, managing approximately 30,000 weddings to date. Its newly launched Shadiyana Wedding Planner App allows couples to discover, book, and manage venues, photographers, catering, and other wedding services from anywhere, providing a seamless, real-time planning experience. According to Neelam Shoaib, Co-Founder and COO, the app is fueled by the excitement of each new booking and is designed to transform Pakistan’s complex and resource-intensive wedding ecosystem into a more organized and accessible process for families.

For the founders, the idea for Shadiyana stemmed from personal experiences and a desire to rethink the wedding industry entirely. Neelam recalls falling ill during her sister’s wedding, which highlighted the exhausting nature of wedding planning even for families that spend significant amounts. Years later, she and Zaman identified an opportunity to apply technology and operational discipline to an industry traditionally driven by informal processes. Zaman emphasizes that being industry outsiders and women founders has allowed them to challenge existing norms, question first principles, and design solutions that truly serve both vendors and customers.

Indus Valley Capital’s Managing Partner Aatif Awan highlighted the team’s strong founder-market fit and customer-centric approach as key reasons for backing Shadiyana. The startup plans to expand its presence in Lahore and Karachi, grow its vendor ecosystem, and introduce more technology-driven tools for wedding planning. As Shadiyana scales, it remains focused on building operational efficiency, leveraging technology to streamline services, and fostering innovation in an industry that has historically lacked structure. With Pakistan’s wedding market poised for growth, Shadiyana is strategically positioned to become the leading digital platform for couples and families across the country.
