The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the country’s premier regulatory authority, has announced the launch of its Summer Internship Program 2025, offering an exciting opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain real-world experience in a high-impact public sector environment.

The internship program, which runs for a duration of 6 to 10 weeks, is designed to provide young talent with practical exposure to the workings of Pakistan’s financial and regulatory systems. Interns will have the chance to work across various departments, including finance, corporate law, information technology, insurance, and policy and regulation—equipping them with valuable insights and professional skills that go beyond the classroom.

Targeted at students from HEC-recognized local and international universities and professional institutions, the program invites applications from individuals who are currently in their third year of a bachelor’s degree or beyond, enrolled in a master’s program, or have recently graduated. Applicants must meet a minimum academic threshold of 70% in an annual examination system or a CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or 4.0 out of 5.0) to be considered for this competitive opportunity.

SECP’s internship initiative underscores its commitment to nurturing future leaders and building a knowledgeable workforce for Pakistan’s evolving financial and corporate sectors. Through this structured program, participants will not only gain exposure to the regulatory landscape but also develop a deeper understanding of public sector governance, corporate compliance, and digital innovation in regulatory technology (RegTech).

Interns selected for the 2025 cohort will work closely with SECP professionals and mentors, contributing to meaningful projects while developing their analytical, technical, and communication skills. Whether it’s policy research, IT system analysis, corporate regulatory affairs, or financial oversight, the internship offers a unique blend of learning and contribution in a fast-paced and impactful setting.

For many aspiring professionals, especially those pursuing careers in finance, law, tech, and public policy, this program serves as a stepping stone to future roles within regulatory bodies, consultancy firms, fintech startups, and more. It’s an opportunity to work at the intersection of innovation, governance, and economic development.

Applications are open until Monday, May 19, 2025, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply early due to the competitive nature of the selection process. The SECP has streamlined the application process via a dedicated online portal, which can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/e8PzvdMz.

The Summer Internship Program 2025 reflects SECP’s broader mission to foster transparency, efficiency, and modern governance in Pakistan’s corporate sector while investing in the country’s next generation of thought leaders.
