Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has announced that its flagship fiber to the home service, PTCL Flash Fiber, has surpassed 900,000 subscribers, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to expand high speed broadband connectivity across the country. The achievement reinforces PTCL’s position as Pakistan’s largest internet service provider and reflects growing demand for reliable, high speed fiber broadband among households, businesses, students, gamers, content creators, and professionals.

The company said the milestone supports its long term vision of advancing digital connectivity and contributing to the government’s goal of building a hyper connected Digital Pakistan through continued investment in next generation fiber infrastructure. PTCL Flash Fiber is currently available in 78 cities nationwide, with the company continuing to expand coverage to meet growing demand for fast and reliable internet services as Pakistan’s digital economy evolves.

The network’s performance has also received international recognition from Ookla, the global internet testing and analysis company, which awarded PTCL Flash Fiber the titles of Best Fixed Network in Pakistan for 2025 and Best ISP Gaming Experience for the second half of 2025. The awards were based on Ookla’s Speedtest Connectivity Report for Pakistan, evaluating parameters including download and upload speeds, latency, video streaming performance, and web browsing experience. According to the report, PTCL Flash Fiber was recognised as the fastest provider in four regions of Pakistan during the first half of 2025, before extending its lead to become the fastest provider across most regions tracked by Ookla in the second half of the year.

Commenting on the subscriber milestone, President and Chief Executive Officer of PTCL Mohammad Nadeem Khan said the achievement reflects the trust customers have placed in Flash Fiber, adding that the company will continue expanding its fiber footprint and investing in advanced network infrastructure to deliver a stronger broadband experience across Pakistan. Khan was appointed interim Chief Executive Officer of PTCL earlier this month following the completion of the company’s restructuring after the merger of Ufone and Telenor Pakistan, which required PTCL to operate independently from the newly formed mobile entity under conditions set by the Competition Commission of Pakistan.

The subscriber growth comes as Pakistan’s fixed broadband market continues shifting toward fiber based connectivity, with rising demand for high bandwidth applications including 4K streaming, cloud gaming, remote work tools, and online education platforms. PTCL has stated that it remains committed to expanding its Flash Fiber footprint nationwide as more households and businesses move away from legacy copper based connections toward fiber optic infrastructure, positioning the company to continue capturing a larger share of Pakistan’s growing demand for reliable, low latency internet access.
