The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office in Lahore, in collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle, executed a successful raid targeting a mobile phone company franchisee located in Raiwind suspected of illegal SIM issuance.

During the operation, authorities uncovered 256 active SIMs and seized 16 Biometric Verification System (BVS) devices as evidence. Additionally, one individual was apprehended on-site by the FIA team, who is currently under investigation.

The raid is part of PTA’s ongoing efforts to crack down on the circumvention of the Multi-Finger Biometric Verification System (MBVS). This proactive stance reflects PTA’s commitment to combating the unlawful issuance of SIMs and ensuring the integrity of telecommunications regulations.
