Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, in collaboration with Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), has officially inaugurated its new MARKAZ offices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, further extending the reach of the MARKAZ Industry Facilitation initiative. The expansion aims to provide on-ground support for technology companies and startups across Pakistan, enabling a more inclusive and accessible environment for tech-driven growth. This move aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s digital economy and ensure that businesses operating in remote regions can benefit from streamlined regulatory and operational support.

MARKAZ serves as a comprehensive support platform offering 24/7 assistance to businesses in navigating challenges that can impede growth. By establishing offices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, PSEB is making it easier for local tech companies to access guidance on operational hurdles, regulatory compliance, and export-related procedures. Businesses in these regions will now have direct access to on-ground facilitation, which is expected to significantly reduce delays and enhance efficiency in addressing day-to-day operational requirements. This development highlights PSEB’s focus on creating a supportive ecosystem that empowers both emerging startups and established technology enterprises to thrive.

The MARKAZ initiative provides assistance in a variety of critical areas, including faster resolution of challenges related to regulatory bodies such as SECP, PTA, EOBI, Social Security, and Labour Department processes. Businesses will also receive support in managing documentation, compliance, and export revenue procedures, enabling them to focus on innovation and scaling operations rather than navigating bureaucratic complexities. The expanded presence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan ensures that technology-driven companies outside major urban centers have equitable access to resources that can facilitate growth, enhance competitiveness, and open new market opportunities.

Experts in the technology sector note that initiatives like MARKAZ are essential for fostering sustainable growth in Pakistan’s digital economy. By providing end-to-end guidance and on-ground facilitation, PSEB is helping businesses overcome operational bottlenecks that can often slow down progress. The offices in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to serve as critical touchpoints for entrepreneurs and enterprises seeking advice on compliance, registration, and export processes. This initiative also reflects a broader national strategy to decentralize support services, ensuring that technology and software businesses in all regions of Pakistan are equipped to contribute to the country’s digital transformation.

Through the MARKAZ program, Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and PSEB continue to demonstrate their commitment to building a vibrant technology ecosystem that prioritizes accessibility and practical support. With the launch of these new offices, more businesses are expected to benefit from streamlined processes and dedicated facilitation, reinforcing Pakistan’s position as an emerging hub for software and technology innovation. By bridging the gap between regulatory frameworks and operational needs, MARKAZ strengthens the foundation for inclusive growth, encouraging local enterprises to explore opportunities at both national and international levels.
