Pakistan Software Export Board is inviting registered freelancers to nominate themselves for the PSEB IT Export Awards 2026, extending recognition to individual exporters alongside the companies already eligible for the program. The board noted that freelancers played a significant role in helping Pakistan achieve a record USD 4.6 billion in information technology exports during the 2025-26 fiscal year, contributing USD 1.1 billion of that total on their own.

To be eligible, applicants must be registered freelancers with Pakistan Software Export Board and must have received export remittances under State Bank of Pakistan IT Purpose Code 9186 during the 2025-26 fiscal year. The nomination window closes on August 6, 2026, giving eligible freelancers a defined period to submit their applications ahead of the deadline. Pakistan Software Export Board has published detailed eligibility and evaluation criteria alongside a dedicated online submission form for freelancers looking to nominate themselves for the award.

The freelancer specific nomination track reflects the growing weight individual exporters now carry within Pakistan’s overall IT export figures, with freelance contributions accounting for close to a quarter of the country’s total IT export earnings in the last fiscal year. Recognizing freelancers alongside registered companies signals an effort by the Pakistan Software Export Board to formally acknowledge this segment of the export base, which has historically operated with less visibility compared to larger, company level exporters.

The IT Export Awards 2026 initiative continues Pakistan Software Export Board’s broader push to celebrate high performing contributors across the country’s technology export ecosystem, spanning categories for established companies, startups, and now individual freelancers as well. Interested freelancers with questions about the nomination process or eligibility requirements have been directed to contact the board’s awards team directly for further guidance ahead of the submission deadline.
