PITB and Livestock to Upgrade the SPMS 9211 system, Helping 9mn Farmers in Punjab

In a ceremony conducted at Arfa Software Technology Park, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Punjab government’s Livestock & Diary Development Department (L&DD) signed an agreement to overhaul the Strengthening of Performance Management System, also known as the SPMS 9211 System.

On behalf of their respective departments, PITB DG-IT Operations Faisal Yousaf and Director L&DD Dr Muhammad Ashraf signed the agreement. Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz, Punjab Minister of Higher Education and Information Technology, Sardar Hasnain Bahadar Dreshak, Chairman PITB Azfar Manzoor, Secretary Livestock Punjab Asad Rehman Gillani, and other officials were present at the event.

According to the agreement, PITB will provide ICT support to restore and modernise the SPMS 9211 System for the benefit of Punjab’s farmers, which will assist enhance the province’s administration. PITB will operationalize and improve the system by developing an Android and Web application for the SPMS 9211 System, as well as automating Reports, Analytics, and other system components.

“The Punjab administration is committed to modernising governance through contemporary ICT interventions,” stated Punjab Minister Higher Education and Information Technology Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz. One such move in rebuilding L&DD’s services for the benefit of farmers is the revamping of the SPMS 9211 System.”
