The National University of Science and Technology’s Rocket Team (NRT) is making significant strides in advancing science and technology in Pakistan. Founded in 2019 by passionate students, NRT aims to elevate the country’s space sector and gain global recognition.

As Pakistan’s first undergraduate student rocketry team, NRT is on a mission to foster a culture of space science in the country. Its dedicated members are harnessing their talents to propel the sector forward.

One of NRT’s remarkable achievements is the construction of Pakistan’s maiden student-built sounding rocket, Project Raftaar. Representing the nation on international platforms, the team participated in the Spaceport America Cup in 2021, outperforming three US university teams, including the host university.

Beyond international endeavors, NRT actively engages in stimulating STEM activities through its Outreach Program. Collaborating with local schools and colleges, the team aims to ignite curiosity and raise awareness about space science among the youth of Pakistan.

A recent breakthrough for NRT came with the successful development of an in-house rocket propulsion system. The skilled team members crafted a rocket motor from scratch, culminating in a triumphant rocket motor test in June, as showcased in a video. This achievement reflects the team’s unwavering determination and dedication, propelling them to new heights of success in Pakistan’s space sector.
