ISLAMABAD   –  Syed Amin Ul Haque, Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, stated on Tuesday that the country had reached another milestone by exceeding the target of $ 2 billion in IT sector exports by June 30, 2021.

“ICT export remittances, which include telecommunication, computer, and information services, have soared to US $ 2.123 billion (largest exporter in the services sector and highest net exporter with US $1.573 billion in net exports) at a growth rate of 47.43% during FY 2020-21, compared to US $ 1.440 billion in FY 2019-20,” he said in a press statement.

He expressed confidence that, by Allah’s help, the $ 5 billion aim for IT sector exports will be met by 2023. The minister commended the Pakistan Software Export Board and the management of IT companies on the unprecedented surge in exports.

He stated unequivocally that the IT sector played a critical role in bolstering the national economy and expanding job prospects in the country.

Meanwhile, Ali Muhammad Khan, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, stated on Tuesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led administration attempted everything it could to gain the opposition’s trust on every major state issue, but instead they were working undermining the government.

“The country’s enemies did not waste any opportunity to malign the government because they were busy destroying the country’s peace,” he stated in an interview with a private television programme.

He claimed that all essential data had been acquired from the drivers of the cabs used by the Afghan Ambassador’s daughter and that it will be delivered shortly.

Furthermore, Ali Muhammad stated his expectation that the PTI’s candidates would win the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections by a large margin.

He chastised the Pakistan Muslim League-N for failing to provide basic services in AJK during their five-year rule, and predicted that PML-N candidates would lose in the upcoming election owing to their poor performance.
