Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja held a meeting with Khalifa AlShamsi, CEO of e& life, and Hatem Bamatraf, President and Group CEO of PTCL, to discuss opportunities for collaboration in advancing Pakistan’s telecom sector. The discussion centered on enhancing digital infrastructure, driving telecom innovation, and building the foundation for next-generation connectivity in alignment with Pakistan’s digital economy vision. The engagement took place under the Tech Destination Pakistan initiative, reaffirming the government’s focus on promoting cross-border collaboration to accelerate the country’s digital transformation.
During the meeting, Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to expanding digital access and strengthening its telecommunications framework to support inclusive economic development. She highlighted the importance of partnerships with leading global and regional technology players in achieving the goals of the Digital Pakistan initiative. The Minister also outlined the government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade digital networks, improve service quality, and enable the transition towards high-speed broadband and emerging technologies that will enhance digital inclusion and economic competitiveness.
Khalifa AlShamsi shared insights from e& life’s experience in building innovative digital ecosystems and expressed a strong interest in exploring collaborative opportunities with Pakistan.
