Pakistan has booked its place at the Dota 2 Main Event of the Esports Nations Cup (ENC) 2026 after defeating India 2-1 in a thrilling South and East Asia regional qualifier. The victory secured Pakistan the second and final qualification spot from the region, earning the national team a place at the inaugural global tournament scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this year. The win marks another significant achievement for Pakistan’s rapidly growing esports community and further strengthens the country’s reputation as an emerging force in competitive gaming.

Pakistan’s qualification campaign demonstrated resilience throughout the tournament. After beginning with a convincing victory over Bangladesh, the team suffered a setback against Mongolia before facing India in a decisive lower-bracket encounter. Despite losing the opening game of the series, Pakistan produced an impressive comeback by winning the next two matches to seal a 2-1 victory and secure qualification. The performance showcased the team’s composure under pressure and its ability to deliver when qualification was on the line.

The Esports Nations Cup is a newly established international competition that brings together national teams from across the world to compete in multiple esports titles. The inaugural edition will feature teams representing more than 100 countries across games including Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, VALORANT, PUBG Mobile, League of Legends and several other major esports titles. The tournament aims to create a nation-based competitive platform similar to traditional international sporting events while promoting the continued growth of esports globally.

Pakistan’s qualification reflects the steady progress of the country’s esports ecosystem, which has produced internationally recognized talent across multiple gaming titles in recent years. Competing at the Esports Nations Cup will provide Pakistani players with an opportunity to face some of the world’s strongest national teams while showcasing local talent on one of esports’ biggest international stages. The achievement is expected to further boost the popularity of competitive gaming in Pakistan and inspire more young players to pursue professional esports careers.
