Ministry of IT and Telecommunications is searching for a highly qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Director General (Telecom Wireless).

The vacancy arose following Jahanzib Rahim’s recent appointment as Member Telecom at MoITT. To strengthen leadership in the telecom sector, the Ministry has announced an open call for applications.

Aligned with its mission to develop policies for advancing Pakistan’s ICT infrastructure, the Ministry seeks a dynamic professional with a strong background in telecommunications. A Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a relevant field, coupled with substantial experience, is a key requirement.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies like Next Generation Networks, IP Telephony, OFC Systems, and Convergence. Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in ICT policy development are also crucial.

Applicants must be under 62 years old. The initial appointment will be a three-year contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

Following application submission, a committee will shortlist candidates based on qualifications. A separate selection committee, appointed by the IT and Telecom Secretary, will recommend three finalists for the Prime Minister’s approval.

This open recruitment process signifies the Ministry’s commitment to finding a qualified leader who can drive innovation and growth in Pakistan’s telecom sector.
