Airlink Communication, a leading Pakistani manufacturer, distributor, and retailer, recently hosted Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, at its state-of-the-art smartphone manufacturing facility. The facility houses Airlink’s partnerships with global giants Xiaomi and Tecno.

The Minister commended Airlink for its commitment to innovation and its impressive record of gender inclusion, with women comprising 25-30% of the workforce.

“I am truly impressed by Airlink’s technological advancements and dedication to gender inclusivity,”

stated the Minister.

“The government recognizes the critical role of the smartphone manufacturing industry in driving economic growth and job creation. We are committed to supporting individuals and businesses in this sector, with the goal of positioning Pakistan as a leading exporter of technology products.”

Responding to the Minister’s remarks, Airlink’s Group CEO, Muzzaffar H Piracha, emphasized the company’s vision for technology transfer and its ambition to establish Pakistan as a global technological hub.

“Pakistan’s smartphone industry, which now fulfills 97% of domestic demand, possesses immense potential to contribute significantly to our economy,”

said Mr. Piracha.

“We estimate that smartphone exports alone could generate up to $10 billion in foreign exchange, further solidifying Pakistan’s position in the global market.”

Airlink’s vision extends beyond smartphones. They plan to expand into Electric Vehicles (EVs) and advance the Internet of Things (IoT) landscape within Pakistan. Their goal is to not only cater to domestic needs but also drive significant foreign exchange through exports.

Airlink has already invested in a Xiaomi LED production facility, with production commencing in the coming months. Through strategic partnerships and a dedication to excellence, Airlink remains at the forefront of technological progress, empowering communities through innovation.
