Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary visited the ZTE Exhibition Center in Beijing to promote stronger collaboration between Pakistan and leading global technology players. During the visit, the Minister encouraged ZTE, a major Chinese ICT company, to explore long-term partnerships with Pakistani institutions focused on innovation, youth development, and advanced tech training. The engagement aligns with Pakistan’s strategic goal of becoming a robust E-Economy driven by emerging technologies and a skilled workforce.

During discussions, the Minister highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to building a strong foundation for digital transformation through investment in frontier technologies. He invited ZTE to support initiatives that empower Pakistani youth, particularly through technical collaborations, research support, and training programs in emerging disciplines. His vision includes the establishment of Advanced Research & Training Centers in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Auto-Robotics, Nano Technology, Big Data, and Cloud Computing. These centers aim to equip young Pakistani engineers and technologists with the skills required to meet global standards in the evolving digital landscape.

The Minister’s visit reinforced Pakistan’s 5Es strategy, with a special focus on E-Governance, Export-led growth, Entrepreneurship, and Energy. These pillars aim to create a framework where technology supports national development, economic resilience, and inclusive growth. By inviting global players like ZTE to invest in knowledge-sharing and capacity building, Pakistan is actively working to foster an innovation-friendly environment for its growing youth population.

Engaging with international technology leaders has become an important part of Pakistan’s efforts to modernize its governance and economic systems. The Minister emphasized the importance of developing homegrown expertise by giving youth access to the tools and training necessary to thrive in advanced digital domains. This cooperation is seen as a step toward creating a tech-enabled economy where research, industry, and public policy are aligned to meet the demands of future industries.

The discussions held in Beijing represent Pakistan’s intent to deepen its global technology partnerships, with a focus on institutional collaboration, skill enhancement, and inclusive development. With over 60% of its population under the age of 30, Pakistan is positioning itself as a youth-led innovation hub in the region. The involvement of a company like ZTE in capacity building, research infrastructure, and digital training can contribute significantly to Pakistan’s digital vision.

The ongoing outreach reflects the country’s evolving approach to digital governance, tech entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness. For further details, visit: ZTE Meeting.
