Pakistan witnesses growth in cloud transformation: Azam

“Pakistan has witnessed tremendous growth in its cloud transformation drive over the last few years with companies realizing the need to innovate by leveraging cloud and adopting emerging technologies.” This was stated by Syed Azam Abidi, Country Head Applications at Oracle – Pakistan.

From financial institutions to telecommunications, apparel manufacturers to blue chip companies, local businesses have come on board for faster innovation and business transformation through cloud applications.

“Pakistan has made major strides towards becoming a cloud-ready nation and we are witnessing more and more organizations gradually migrating their business processes and data to the cloud. The speed of innovation can be daunting and rapidly shifting consumer expectations continue to change the game. This means successfully growing a business has never been harder”

Azam said that to navigate this change and help Pakistani business leaders create breakthrough experiences, Oracle Cloud offers customers trusted business applications, empowering them to overcome the barriers to growth and successfully scale by delivering our best practices.

The shift to cloud is real and it is making most enterprises re-evaluate their architecture and application landscape. By providing a complete set of automated tools and proven cloud transition methodologies, the new “Soar to the Cloud” solution can enable customers with applications running on premises to upgrade to Oracle Cloud Applications in as little as 20 weeks and reduce the cost of cloud migration by up to 30 percent.

Leading Pakistani organizations, including United Bank Limited (UBL), Tri Angles Electronics and Goto.com.pk, shared details of the business benefits they continue to realize, because of the transformational power of Oracle Cloud Applications.

United Bank Limited (UBL) leads the banking and financial services sector in Pakistan. “Being connected to our customers in real time through social media is a key need for the bank. It is a crucial step in converting our interactions with our potential and current customers into transactions,” said Ali Habib, Head- Corporate Affairs & Marketing, UBL. “Oracle Social Relationship Management (SRM) will help transform our social listening and online conversations into insight-ready qualitative and quantitative data points. We believe this will help our business teams resolve customer service issues and drive advocacy.”

Tri Angels Electronics (Pvt) Ltd., producer of light emitting diode (LED) TV in Pakistan through a joint venture with International Hisense, one of China’s leading brands, which is among top four home appliances manufacturers in the world. The company through this collaboration with Hisense will leverage its world-leading production and technology-development capabilities.

Imran Ghani, Chief Executive Officer, Tri Angels Electronics. “We have now gone live on Oracle ERP Cloud within just 60 days, adopting the best practices which enabled us to use built-in processes including complex operations of manufacturing.”
